Health Reimbursement Account (HRA)
Southern State Community College has partnered with Custom Design Benefits to offer a Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) to all qualified employees. An HRA is a health care plan paid for by an employer to reimburse the medical expenses of its employees.
Any Full-Time employee enrolled in the SSCC medical plan who is not eligible for the HSA can enroll in the HRA during Open Enrollment. Unless you experience a qualifying Life Status Change or Work Status Change you will be locked into this election until the next Open Enrollment Period.
Employees are not able to contribute to an HRA. At the start of each Benefit Period (July 1st) the College will make a contribution to your HRA based on the number of wellness credits you have earned.
Employee Contributions Earned
- Single Plan ------------------------------ Earn $625 per credit (maximum of $2,500)
- +Spouse/+Child/Family -------------- Earn $1,250 per credit (maximum of $5,000)
Additional Credits Earned
Employees with a qualified spouse can earn an additional contribution from the College if the spouse completes two (2) wellness credits:
- Spouse Annual Wellness Visit ------------------ $200
- Spouse Biometric Screening -------------------- $200
HRA dollars not used by the end of the benefit period do not roll over. Please see the Wellness section for more information about the wellness credits.
